In 1859, at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains, Abel Crabos started collecting duck and goose feathers from farms and markets in the area. Geese have been bred in this region of France for over 200 years, however, it wasn’t until the 1960's that Abel’s grandson, André starting using this premium raw material in bedding and within a decade, we had the first Pyrenex mountaineering jacket. Since then the brand has gone from strength to strength, offering a wide range of jackets with lighter-weight options from windbreakers to overshirts.
